the story: the love cats video, directed by tim pope and filmed overnight at an old victorian mansion in haverstock hill in august 1983, was my first time meeting the cure, and i was admittedly half expecting to meet four dour and perhaps miserable black-clad musicians.

not so. the house itself was full of cats, and the boys in the band were as playful as the cute kitten that roamed the many rooms. during the whole night, whenever we weren’t filming, we all passed the time by doing passable impersonations of the young ones. i do wish there was some video!...
